An Idol Village - Mohad

As we entered here, it seemed like we had entered a special village. On every house's door, there is an imprint of Om and Swastik, good thoughts are written on the walls, at other places information regarding the mysteries of the universe are written, and at yet other places people were greeting in Sanskrit in Chaupals. This village which gives an impression of the Vedic Age, when we look at 50 types of industries, and usage of alternative energy from Gobar gas plants, then we see a wonderful coordination of Sanskrit and culture in Mohad. It is situated just 5 kilometers from Kareli Tehsil of Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. This village is the dream of Akhil Bhartiya Rural Development Chief late Surendra Singh Chauhan Ji, which meets every criterion of an ideal village. The hard work of the swayamsevaks and the branch of the Sangh running since the time of independence has made this happen. The clean streets of the village, the rows of lush trees, playgrounds and the greenery and production of the farm narrates its story itself to the visitors. 

The Swach Bharat initiative and Defection free India are already present in Mohad. In order to keep the streets clean, soaking pits have been made in front of every house, the drainage system is so well built in Mohad, that no dirty water gets accumulated. Every house has a toilet. Sewa Bharati has built toilets for 230 families in the village, rest have got it made under the scheme of the Central Government. Almost all families here use bio gas as a source of alternative energy. Until electricity in the state was in crisis, bio gas was being used to light the bulbs too, but now these plants are used to make food in every house. 

The problem of unemployment in Mohad has been solved by the development of small scale industries like knitting, toy making, photo framing, making clay pots, making dona pattal, motor binding, knitting chairs, incense stick making, repairing TV- Radio sets, sculpture making etc. Farming using Naudem compost technique has also increased the income of farmers. Former Sarpanch (Gold medalist in Civil engineering) and RSS volunteer Jawahar Singh Ji tells that today 850 families of the village are employed and 90% are educated. Pucca Road has also been constructed for up to 17 kilometers. Jawahar Ji happily tells that casteism and discrimination are not even named here. In fact, Adarsh Hindu home competition, which is being conducted by the people, is often won by Dalit families.
