The RSS COVID-Warriors Usher In Silent Sewa Revolution-Part 2

Geeta, who was just 1.5 years old and her younger brother Ayush still a baby of 6 months had lost their mother four months back. With already a tough life without the love and protection of their mother, they even lost the security of nourishment after their father, a rickshaw driver lost his job due to COVID. This family, residing in Pahankocha locality of Ranchi was struggling to even get milk for baby Ayush and his grandmother was borrowing rice starch from neighbours to feed him. This was not the only family facing these problems, there were 300 kids in similar situation in localities like Maloharkhocha, Bhabha Nagar, Chadhari, Vardhman compound in Ranchi. When RSS Shivaji Nagar Karyavah, Vijay ji got to know of this, he and his team of volunteers made sure to provide milk to all these families at their homes for two months.

There were many people whose son or daughter could not even come to bid final good bye because of COVID and Sangh came to their rescue. In Nashik, district karyavah,Mangesh bhai and his team ensured that people dying due to COVID get a proper funeral. Most of the people were strangers for these Swayamsewaks but their relatives could give themlast rites respectfully because of efforts by RSS. Sonali Dabak, Shubhada Desai, Dipavli Gadakh are women COVID warriors who helped lit funeral pyres while wearing PPE kits. Infact, there was a board on display in Nashik COVID hospital which asked relatives of deceased to contact local RSS Swayamsewaks for final rites.

National Sah-sewa Pramukh, Rajkumar Matol ji said that as the problems grew bigger so did the efforts by RSS. More than 60, 000 Swayamsewaks donated blood (stats till June 5th) to make sure that hospitals do not face scarcity of blood supply. From Kerela to Haryana, RSS performed sanitization drives to make sure slums are clean to prevent further spread of diseases.Medical helpline was being run in Amroha of Meerut district and 24hours Pan-India helpline of Sewabharati to help patients and their relatives.

When labour migration was at its peak, more than 44 lakh labourers were provided with food, water, medicines and other essentials at 1778 places in India. One such story is of was Noor Mohammed in Surat. He was originally form Amethi (U.P.) and worked as a roadside hawker selling clothes. He was out of work,starving and decided to walk a staggering 1300 km distance with his pregnant wife and a 3 year old kid. His wife Ishrat, experienced labour pain midway along Jalgaon highway and started bleeding heavily. When Ravi Kasar and other RSS volunteers who were distributing food nearby noticed this, they came forward to help deliver the baby safely. They later admitted her to hospital of a former RSS city head, Dr. Vikas Gole.

COVID has created an environment of fear and hopelessness and everytime RSS volunteers came forward to help, they were nullifying these negative feelings and giving way to hopeful, helpful surrounding.
